# Quick Start
Get your first live wallpaper running in under 5 minutes.
## Step 1: Choose a Wallpaper
1. Click the **Livid icon** in your menu bar
2. Select **Browse Gallery** from the dropdown
3. Browse the curated collection of live wallpapers
4. Click on any wallpaper to preview it
## Step 2: Apply the Wallpaper
Once you've found a wallpaper you like:
1. Click the **Apply** button
2. Choose which display to apply it to (if you have multiple monitors)
3. The wallpaper will start playing immediately
## Step 3: Adjust Settings
Fine-tune your wallpaper experience:
- **Quality**: Choose between Performance, Balanced, or Quality mode
- **Audio**: Enable or disable wallpaper audio (if available)
- **Pause**: Set when to pause (on battery, when apps are fullscreen, etc.)
## Using Your Own Videos
Want to use your own video as a wallpaper?
1. Click **Livid icon** → **Add Custom Wallpaper**
2. Select a video file (MP4, MOV, or HEVC recommended)
3. Adjust loop settings and preview
4. Click **Save** to add it to your library
## Keyboard Shortcuts
| Shortcut | Action |
|----------|--------|
| `⌘ + Shift + W` | Open wallpaper picker |
| `⌘ + Shift + P` | Pause/Resume current wallpaper |
| `⌘ + Shift + N` | Next wallpaper (if playlist enabled) |
## Tips
- **Battery Life**: Enable "Pause on Battery" to save power on laptops
- **Performance**: Use HEVC videos for better quality at smaller file sizes
- **Multi-Display**: Each display can have its own wallpaper
