Download and install Livid on your Mac in just a few steps.

Quick Tip

The fastest way to install is via Homebrew if you have it set up.

System Requirements

Latest macOS version required for native engine support

M1 or later recommended for best performance

16GB recommended for 4K wallpapers

Plus space for your wallpaper library

Go to livid.app/download and click the download button.

Double-click the downloaded Livid.dmg file to mount it.

Drag the Livid icon to your Applications folder.

If you prefer using Homebrew:

brew install --cask livid

Homebrew Advantage

Installing via Homebrew makes updates easier with brew upgrade livid.

Livid requires the following permissions to function:

Permission	Purpose
Screen Recording	Access to render wallpapers on your desktop
Accessibility	Multi-display support and window management
Files and Folders	Access to your wallpaper library

Permission Denied?

If you accidentally denied a permission, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security to enable it manually.

After installation, you should see the Livid icon in your menu bar. Click it to open the wallpaper picker.

If you see a live wallpaper on your desktop, congratulations! Livid is installed correctly.
